You’ve invested in a new pair of boots, and you want to get your money’s worth, right? With proper care your boots can last a very, very long time. I recently came accross a pair of boots that were hand made for my father in law in 1952. They are in great condition, to my surprise. It’s really pretty simple. When your boots are new use a protectant product to waterproof and stain proof them. Then, if you do happen to go tramping through the mud just brush it off when it is dry and condition the leather with a good leather conditioner. You can buff the leather with a cloth or soft brush for a shine, but most people these days aren’t intersted in a high gloss shine.  If your boots have any kind of overlay or pattern just use a soft brush to remove any dirt in the crevices and condition the leather as usual, using a soft cloth.

Don’t think 80s style and don’t think old-fashioned, but lace and bright colors can definitely accent your own personal style.
